Position Overview

A GCS Teacher serves as an integral member of the Geneseo CSD team, supporting the district's mission to provide a safe, inclusive, and high-quality educational environment. The position requires commitment to excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement in service of student success. 

Major Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver effective, standards-based instruction that meets the needs of all learners
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs
• Create and maintain a positive and supportive classroom culture that fosters student engagement, collaboration, and learning
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's progress and development
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum and instructional strategies
• Support students' individual learning needs, including those with IEPs or 504 plans
• Participate in professional development opportunities to continually improve teaching practices

Other Responsibilities

• Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
• Attend meetings, events, and activities as required or assigned.
• Contribute to school/district initiatives, committees, or improvement efforts.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including students, families, and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee.
