Job Description

Geneseo Central School is seeking a Special Education Teacher for our 6-week Extended Year Program (8:1:1). Monday–Friday July 7-August 15, 2025

Teaching Staff Hours: 8am-12pm (4 hours per day)

Student Hours: 8:30-11:30am

Tentative: Monday, June 30th is 4 hours' Staff Planning/PD Day 

• Create a welcoming, engaging summer learning environment

• Engage in 3 hours of required professional development

• Provide opportunities for students to receive targeted instruction and concentrated practice on strategies to enhance their transition to the next grade level.

• Ongoing monitoring and adjustments in response to student performance

• Regular communication with the educational team and families

• Completion of end of summer progress reports will be shared with families.

• The instructional focus will be on Literacy, Numeracy and SEL skills. Available resources are, but not limited to, RGR, iReady, Collaborative Classroom, Geodes and more. The goals are to maintain skills and prepare students for the upcoming grade level. 

Job Qualifications

NYS Certification for Students with Disabilities K-6; or Special Education K-12
