Geneseo Central School is looking for an Athletic Coordinator - Certified Physical Education Teacher. This position is a 10-month position in addition to ten (10) summer days located in the Middle School High School. The chosen candidate will be offered full benefits and will be a member of the Geneseo Faculty Association.
The position includes two (2) primary roles. First, the responsibilities include the instruction of three (3) periods of Middle School or High School physical education. Second, the position will report to the Middle School High School Principal to coordinate the interscholastic athletic programs, equipment, scheduling and supervision for the District.
Essential Functions:
- Commitment to the success of coaches and athletes at all levels of the program and for all male and female interscholastic sports
- Assumes responsibility for the organization and scheduling of all interscholastic athletic events, including scheduling field and gym use for all teams
- Coordinates equipment purchasing and storage
- Coordinates coaches' athletic sign-ups and beginning and end-of-year meetings
- Coordinates media relations for the athletic department
- Coordinates the Athletic Placement process
- Collaborates with the transportation department for team travel
- Collaborates with the maintenance department for field and gym preparations and safety
- Collaborates with the Principal for the appointment and certification of all coaches and volunteer assistants
- Reviews athletic department budget with the Principal
- Coordinates faculty game supervision
- Coordinates the assignment of referees and greets game officials and provides vouchers
- Coordinates district concussion management plan and collaborates with the nurse regarding medical eligibility for student/athletes
- Collaborates with Principal to plan and present unique student-athlete enrichment programs
- Collaborates with Principal for end-of-year coaches and program evaluations and assignments
- Collaborates with the Principal/Asst. Principal when a student violates training rules

Salary
- Consistent with GFA (Geneseo Faculty Association) contract in addition to a stipend of $5,000
